Avocado Chocolate Mousse Recipe

Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup maple syrup (or honey for a non-vegan option)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup coconut milk (or any plant-based milk)
- Pinch of sea salt
- 2 tablespoons melted dark chocolate (optional, for extra richness)
- Shaved chocolate or cocoa nibs for garnish (optional)

Prepare the Avocados:
Cut the ripe avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a food processor or blender. Make sure the avocados are soft and ripe for a creamy texture. -
Blend the Mousse:
Add the unsweetened cocoa powder, maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, coconut milk, and a pinch of sea salt to the blender or food processor. If you want a richer chocolate flavor, add the melted dark chocolate. Blend everything together until smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the processor as needed. -
Adjust the Sweetness:
Taste the mousse and adjust the sweetness if needed by adding more maple syrup or honey. If the mousse is too thick, add a little more coconut milk or water, one tablespoon at a time, until you reach your desired consistency. -
Chill the Mousse:
Spoon the mousse into serving dishes or bowls. Although it’s delicious immediately, chilling the mousse for 30 minutes to 1 hour in the fridge will allow the flavors to meld together and give it a firmer texture. -
Serve:
Once chilled (or if you’re serving immediately), garnish the mousse with shaved chocolate, cocoa nibs, or a few berries for a touch of color. Serve and enjoy!
