Ingredients
-
For the pizza dough:
- 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 3/4 cup warm water (110°F or 45°C)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
For the toppings:
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 cup cooked bacon pieces
- 1/2 cup sour cream (optional, for drizzling)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp olive oil
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
- 1 egg
Direction
-
Prepare the Dough:
- In a small bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, add the yeast mixture, olive oil, salt, and flour. Stir until the dough begins to come together.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rest for 10 minutes in a warm spot.
-
Prepare the Potato Mixture:
- Thinly slice the potatoes (you can use a mandoline slicer for even, thin slices).
- Toss the slices with 1 tsp of olive oil and 1 tsp garlic powder. Set them aside.
-
Preheat the Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C).
-
Roll Out the Dough:
- On a floured surface, roll out the dough into your desired pizza shape (round or rectangular) and place it onto a lightly greased pizza pan or baking sheet.
-
Layer the Toppings:
- Evenly spread the shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan over the rolled-out dough.
- Lay the thinly sliced potatoes over the cheese, making sure to spread them evenly.
- Sprinkle the cooked bacon pieces over the potatoes.
-
Bake the Pizza:
- Transfer the pizza to the preheated oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender, the bacon is crispy, and the crust is golden brown.
-
Garnish and Serve:
- Remove the pizza from the oven. Drizzle with sour cream (optional) and garnish with fresh parsley if desired.
-
Slice and Enjoy:
- Cut the pizza into slices, serve warm, and enjoy the comforting flavors of bacon, potato, and melted cheese.
