  • Preheat the Oven:

    • Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). This ensures that the cookies bake evenly and achieve that perfect texture. If you have multiple baking sheets, you can prepare them while the oven heats.
  • Cream Butter and Sugars:

    • In a large mixing bowl, add 1 cup of softened unsalted butter, 3/4 cup of granulated sugar, and 3/4 cup of packed brown sugar.
    • Using an electric mixer (or a whisk, if you prefer), beat the mixture on medium speed for about 2-3 minutes until it is light and fluffy. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed to ensure all ingredients are well mixed. This process incorporates air, which helps create a tender texture in the cookies.
  • Add Eggs:

    • Beat in 2 large eggs, one at a time. Make sure to mix well after each addition, allowing the eggs to fully incorporate before adding the next. This helps the dough maintain a smooth consistency.
  • Combine Dry Ingredients:

    • In a separate medium bowl, whisk together 2 1/4 cups of all-purpose flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. This step ensures that the baking soda is evenly distributed throughout the flour, which is essential for proper leavening.
  • Mix Dry Ingredients into Wet:

    • Gradually add the dry ingredients to the creamed butter and sugar mixture.   • Fold in Chocolate Chips:
