  • 3 ripe avocados, peeled, pitted, and mashed
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped

  • 1 jalapeño pepper, seeded and minced (optional for spice)

Direction

  • Prepare the Avocados:

    • Start by cutting the avocados in half. Remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium-sized mixing bowl.
    • Using a fork or a potato masher, mash the avocado to your desired consistency. Some people like it chunky, while others prefer it smooth—it’s up to you!
  • Chop the Veggies:

    • Finely chop the red onion, tomato, and cilantro. If you’re using jalapeño, mince it finely as well. Be sure to remove the seeds from the jalapeño if you prefer a milder guacamole.
  • Mix the Ingredients:

    • Add the chopped onion, tomato, cilantro, and jalapeño (if using) into the mashed avocado. Stir to combine.
    • Add lime juice, cumin (if using), and season generously with salt and pepper. Taste the guacamole and adjust the seasoning to your liking.
  • Serve:
