Ingredients
-
For the Chicken Wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp paprika
-
For the Honey BBQ Sauce:
- 1/2 cup BBQ sauce (your favorite brand or homemade)
- 1/4 cup honey
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp smoked paprika (optional for extra smoky flavor)
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional for a spicy kick)
Direction
-
Prepare the Chicken Wings:
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. This will help the wings become crispy when baked.
- Place the wings in a large bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika until they are evenly coated.
-
Bake the Wings:
- Arrange the seasoned wings in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a wire rack for extra crispiness.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 25–30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the wings are golden brown and crispy on the outside.
-
Make the Honey BBQ Sauce:
- While the wings are baking, prepare the sauce. In a small saucepan, combine the BBQ sauce, honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (if using).
- Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Let it cook for about 5-7 minutes or until it thickens slightly and becomes well-combined. Remove from heat and set aside.
-
Toss the Wings in Sauce:
- Once the wings are cooked and crispy, remove them from the oven and place them in a large bowl.
- Pour the prepared Honey BBQ sauce over the wings and toss gently to coat them evenly with the sauce.
-
Serve:
- Transfer the coated wings to a serving platter. Garnish with fresh parsley or green onions, if desired.
- Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauce (like ranch or blue cheese) and enjoy!
