Ingredients
- 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil (or coconut oil)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

Prep the Pot: Use a large pot with a lid. Add the oil and heat over medium heat.

Test the Oil: Add 2 or 3 popcorn kernels to the pot. Cover it with the lid. When those kernels pop, the oil is ready.

Add Kernels and Sugar: Once the test kernels pop, remove them. Add the rest of the popcorn kernels and the sugar to the pot. Stir to combine.

Pop the Corn: Cover the pot with the lid, leaving it slightly ajar to allow steam to escape. Shake the pot occasionally to prevent burning. Keep shaking until the popping slows down (about 2-3 seconds between pops).

Season: Once popping is done, remove the pot from heat. Transfer the popcorn to a large bowl and sprinkle with salt. Stir well to evenly distribute.

Cool and Enjoy: Allow the kettle corn to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy your sweet and salty treat!
Tips:
- For extra flavor, you can add a dash of cinnamon or vanilla extract after popping.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container to keep them fresh.
