Ingredients

  • 12 lasagna noodles
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 lb scallops
  • 1 lb crab meat (fresh or canned, drained)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 4 cups milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Olive oil, for cooking
  • Optional: 1/2 cup white wine (dry), for deglazing

Direction

  1. Prepare the Seafood:
    • Heat a tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
    • Add the shrimp and scallops to the skillet and cook until shrimp turn pink and scallops are opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
    • If using wine, pour it into the skillet to deglaze, scraping up any browned bits. Let it simmer for a minute, then remove from heat and set aside.
  2. Make the White Sauce (Béchamel):
    • In a large saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
    • Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly, to make a roux.
    • Gradually whisk in the milk, a little at a time, until smooth and thickened.
    • Stir in half of the Parmesan cheese, half of the mozzarella cheese, garlic, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth. Remove from heat.
  3. Assemble the Lasagna:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
    • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked shrimp, scallops, crab meat, chopped parsley, and chopped basil. Toss gently to mix.
  4. Layering:
    • Spread a thin layer of the white sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Arrange a layer of lasagna noodles over the sauce.
    • Spread half of the seafood mixture evenly over the noodles.
    • Spoon a third of the remaining white sauce over the seafood.
    • Repeat with another layer of noodles, the remaining seafood mixture, and another third of the white sauce.
    • Finish with a final layer of noodles and spread the remaining white sauce over the top.
    • Sprinkle the remaining Parmesan cheese and mozzarella cheese evenly over the top.
  5. Bake:
    • Cover the baking dish loosely with aluminum foil.
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
    • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
  6. Serve:
    • Let the lasagna cool for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
    • Garnish with additional chopped parsley or basil, if desired.
